Project: Africa Teams
Abaana has taken over 400 people to Uganda on teams. Each year Abaana takes teams of volunteers to help with our projects including building, painting, running childrens’ schools camps and working with street children. We have organised teams for churches, schools, groups of students, young professionals, and groups including mixed gender of all ages. Project: Gulu - LRA
In the North of Uganda, there has been a bloody war going on for 20 years. Thousands of children have been abducted and forced to fight or to slave "brides" to the soldiers. Many of the local people have been brutally killed or wounded. There individual stories would bring anyone to tears. Abaana are building a educational and development centre in Gulu. Children make up half of the population of Africa. Many of these children are reduced to living on the streets, surviving through begging, theft and violence.
